AUGUST 14, 2023, was the worst day of my end of summer. I was doing a familiar task, laundry in the morning. All was going well waiting for my comforter to dry, so I decided to take a walk around the laundromat. Looking at the beautiful pine trees while walking and my foot twisted as it stepped into a gap in the blacktop and heard a snap, crackle, pop.
